March was a marvelous month! We enjoyed worshipping with Jana Alayra, hatching butterflies and chicks, going on a class field trip to Irvine Regional Park Train and Zoo with the 3 day and TK classes, learning about sea creatures from Captain Carl’s Mobile Tidepool and listening to the kiddos worship at the Spring Sing. Thank you for your enthusiastic participation. 😊
This month we will be enjoying Spring/Easter vacation, Easter parties to celebrate that Jesus Is Risen and going to Tanaka Farms to pick strawberries.
APRIL REMINDERS
*Tuition is due on the 1st – THANKS for your promptness!
*April 1st & 2nd – Easter Parties-in the classes. Please bring 2 white, hard-boiled eggs (to dye during class) and 6 plastic candy or sticker-filled eggs for the egg hunt on the day your child attends. We need those items first thing in the morning at drop off!! The TK class party will be on April 2nd.
*April 3rd– Good Friday service 6:00 p.m. Please join us for a special service. Childcare is available for preschool aged children. Join us for Easter service on April 5th at 10:00 a.m. Sunday School available.
*School closed April 3rd – 10th for Good Friday & Spring/Easter vacation.
*Share days are April 16th & 17th this month-check the curriculum for appropriate items to share!
*We are continuing to enroll students for the fall and summer camp . If you know anyone who is interested, send him or her in. We still have a few spots left in all classes. We appreciate referrals! 😊
*April 23rd & 24th – Tanaka Farm field trip! TK goes on Thursday, April 23rd with the 2-day classes and there will be no school for them on Friday, April 24th. Three-day classes go on Friday, April 25th! Please look for a flyer with details and remember we cannot allow extra adults or siblings (nursing babies are allowed) to join us for this field trip. Thank you for following our field trip policy.
*Staff appreciation week – April 27th – May 1st.
*Please check the attached calendar for all the events this month. If you have questions about anything, please feel free to ask!
*Please have your child bring his/her backpack to preschool everyday. Please keep an extra set of LABELED clothes (underwear, shirt, pants or shorts, shoes and socks) the bottom, zippered section of the backpack in case of toileting “accidents” or water play spills. Check your child’s backpack DAILY for Art projects, notes and forms!
*When signing in/out, PLEASE SIGN YOUR CHILD’S FULL NAME AND YOUR FULL NAME and the times of drop off/pick up on the sheet. ONLY THOSE
PEOPLE YOU HAVE LISTED ON YOUR AUTHORIZATION SHEET WILL BE ALLOWED TO PICK YOUR CHILD UP!
*Lighthouse Community Church meets every Sunday at 10:00 a.m. Sunday School and Nursery care are provided during the service.
*As part of our master plan agreement with the City of Costa Mesa, it is always mandatory that all parents and visitors park in the main church parking lot. The parking lot barriers will be open from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. – our normal business hours. The lot will also be open for any special activities as needed between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 11:00 p.m. No activities will take place in the parking lot after 11:00 p.m. or before 7:00 a.m. You are required to walk your child to the side door of the worship center and sign him/her in and out on the sheet provided daily. The preschool staff will be there to welcome and dismiss your child to you or an authorized adult. If you arrive early for any session, please keep your child with you in the car until it is time to sign him/her in. Should you arrive late for drop off or plan to pick your child up early from the classroom, please park in the main church parking lot and walk him/her across the street at the designated crosswalk on the corner of Magnolia St. and Santa Ana Ave. only. Please help us in honoring Lil’ Lighthouse Preschool’s agreement with the City of Costa Mesa in following these procedures.
*In case of a blackout or emergency disaster or if you cannot reach us on the landline, we will have a cell phone on for you to contact us- 949) 209-7114.
*Please do not park in the coned off areas of the parking lot! They are there for the children’s safety! Please do not leave children unattended in your car and drive slowly and cautiously through the parking lot. Always look for pedestrians when exiting onto 18th St. Thank you for keeping our children and neighbors safe!
Looking Ahead to May/June:
May 7th & 8th – Mommy & Me – at noon –bring a picnic lunch. NO PM Learn & Play! (TK can attend either day or both). We will have a special fundraiser on both days.
May 15th – Adventure City Field Trip for 3 day and 5-day students -watch for a flyer with details.
May 25th – Memorial Day Holiday- no school
May 26th & 27th – Daddy & Me – at noon- bring a picnic lunch. NO PM Learn & Play (TK can attend either day or both).
May 28th – TTH End of Year Party @ TeWinkle Park.
TK has morning classes only-NO PM Learn & Play for TK.
May 29th –last day of PM Learn & Play for 3 day & TK students
June 2nd – TK Practice and Party 8:30 – 10:30 a.m. Graduation at 5:30 p.m.
June 3rd – 3 Day Practice and Party 8:30 – 10:30 a.m. Graduation at 5:30 p.m. ALL current 3 day students graduate even if they are returning to our TK!!
June 15th – 19th – SAVE THE DATE- & WATCH FOR A REGISTRATION FORM-VBS at Lighthouse
June 22nd – July 17th – Summer Camp at Lil’ Lighthouse – 9 am – 12 noon
